Hello friends!:) I made some more tops recently and finally getting around to blogging about them. Its nice to have an easy go-to project to get some "instant sewing gratification". Not exactly "instant" for myself, but close to it! I'm always in awe of my fellow seamstresses who can crank out a project in an afternoon or evening. Don't I wish I were that efficient! These two tops were relatively quick. I made a mistake this time around making them a bit too fitted though. I had to cut off a few inches and make hem bands which ended up being two inches in depth. I like the hem band better than steam a seam, which I've used on my past two tops.
Both fabrics are cotton knits from Fabricville. Pretty easy to work with and pressed well.
Well, that's it for now. I'm currently working on a dress for a friend who is getting married next month:) I have a few more projects to blog about but still need photos! Til next time!:)
Very beautiful, Rikki, and I like the outfits too.
ReplyDeleteThanks James!:)
DeleteIt's nice to have some go to, reliable patterns. I especially love how you match the field in the second one ;) I like the hem bands - they really finish these nicely. Great decision!
ReplyDeleteThanks Melwyk:) lol. This one has become a fast favourite!
DeleteNice tops and a great fit. I like the hem bands too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margie:)
DeleteWow these tops look absolutely amazing! I adore the fabric you have chosen to make them in. I'd love to make some tops like this to wear everyday, they are a great fit. Well done on making two beautiful tops and good luck with the wedding dress! XxxX
